₿Cryptocurrencies
Bitcoin, Ethereum, stablecoins and their relationship to traditional assets — a sober view without hype, always with risk context (extreme volatility, regulation).
Cryptocurrencies — overview
Cryptocurrencies — Bitcoin, Ethereum, stablecoins and thousands of other tokens — are digital assets built on the blockchain, a decentralized transaction ledger. Bitcoin is often described as "digital gold" with a hard-capped supply, Ethereum as a platform for smart contracts and decentralized applications. Unlike stocks, no company with revenue and profit stands behind a cryptocurrency, so they are valued differently — more by network effect, adoption and supply-demand dynamics. A sober, hype-free view is essential. Cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile — drops of tens of percent within days are not unusual — and the regulatory environment is still evolving. Crypto's relationship to traditional assets is not constant: sometimes they move independently of stocks, other times they correlate, especially during market stress. That means the expected diversification benefit may not always hold. This section explains how cryptocurrencies work, how they differ from stocks and what risks (volatility, regulation, technology and security risk) they carry. Always with risk context and without return promises. This is educational content, not investment advice — and the decision and its risk stay with you.
